The good thing about being a student is that sometimes you can have all the time in the world for lunch, which also means you could walk around and about Holland Village checking out all the lunch deals before you finally settle on one. This time round I was drawn in by the cosy interior of Fosters, and a grill combo of meats would always be something that would be hard to say no to.
The plain toasted bun served at the start was nothing to shout about, but I liked the clam chowder soup which was so creamy and so full of clams. My main of a grilled combo consisted of grilled steak, salmon and fried chicken in mushroom and onion sauce and all-in-all I found it passable. I thought the salmon was a bit overdone though, the steak was just a little too thin for my liking, but at least the fried chicken had a nice and simple batter to it.
The dessert of vanilla ice-cream and crêpe was not as appetising because the crêpe was quite soggy, but a nice cuppa of coffee to complete the meal was enough to satisfy me. All that for $16.90++, pretty worth it I would say! :)
Service
Very good, constantly refills your glass with iced water. Polite and friendly too.
Place
277 Holland Avenue, Holland Village.
