TCC

04 October 2009

I wanted to usher in Daphne's birthday with a cake (and an off-key rendition of "Happy Birthday") but I realised that there was no way we could finish a whole cake by ourselves. I also wanted a place that would still be open past midnight and this effectively cancelled out a whole list of bakeries and pâtisseries. What then? Well, there's always TCC at International Building - an assured range of cakes and it's open 24hours. Neat.

Chocolate Marble Cheesecake: 3.5/5

The chocolate marble cheesecake (top right) was chosen by Daphne and I managed to get the staff to add in a candle when she was out of earshot. I'm sure she was expecting it anyway. The cake was rich and creamy, a bit too rich for my liking, but Daphne enjoyed it a lot. There isn't much of the marble chocolate so the taste was pretty constant - it did get a tiny bit monotonous after a while.

Devil's Chocolate Cake: 4/5

The devil's chocolate cake (bottom left) was much better, having a good combination of milky chocolate mousse and a darker chocolate cake. No idea why it's named as such though, but it makes us all wonder why "sins", "devil" and "naughty" innuendos are so acceptable (even sexy) these days.

Service
Good, the waiters were certainly wide awake past midnight and they're friendly too. Nice and peaceful environment.

$5.80 for the chocolate marble cheesecake
$6.80 for the devil's chocolate cake
