For those of you free/crazy/energised/passionate enough to watch the late night World Cup matches, here's something for you to chew on (literally so) if you hadn't known by now. Pizza Hut's Goal Splitzza features the spicy mayo team on one end and the thousand island sauce team on the other, and on match days you can actually get this to be delivered to your home up till 3am (it's not free of course). Not many matches left by the time you are reading this, but here's an idea on what you can enjoy for the finals if you're cosying up at home rather than rubbing shoulders with the boisterous mob out there.
My verdict? I was a bit disappointed with the aesthetics because I honestly wanted to see the mayo delineating the "pitch" on the pizza. That would have been quite adorable. On taste, I thought it was quite good actually, with adequate crisp edges, tender chicken pieces and distinct sauces. Granted that this is not exactly authentic Italian pizza, but for its "type" I think Pizza Hut still fares pretty well compared to its counterparts in the (mainstream) pizza business.
Hungry? Order soon and eat it while watching the Uruguay vs Netherlands match!
Price
$19.50 for a regular, $25.50 for a large.

July 7, 2010 at 7:20 PMhaha they should come up with a octopus pizza soon!
July 8, 2010 at 3:22 PMno doubt it's far from authentic, but i love pizza hut's lime mayonnaise pizzas!

July 9, 2010 at 8:18 PMLoraine: Nah, I didn't watch the match, but I did eat the pizza haha!
July 9, 2010 at 11:29 PMCavalock: Haha you make it sound so bad! Well, I'm not going to be some snob after eating the real deal in Italy. Admittedly Pizza Hut is more "doughy" but then it's a decent enough snack.
Miso: I think so too! Defeats the purpose of making a soccer field pizza. They should arrange the sausages or chicken pieces in soccer formations la!
Dorothy: I think you were referring to the GER vs ESP match. Imagine how many people will go to work on Monday now haha.
Charlene: ESPECIALLY when they want to cook that silly prophetic Paul the octopus.
Stargirl: They're been using quite a lot of that lime mayo sauce right? I didn't like it at first, but I've come to appreciate it for being a little different.
DGFHFJ: You stupid China spam bot.
Angeline: Lots of lurveeee indeed.
