Recently a friend of mine made a comment that as much as I like my ice-creams, I "don't know" my ice-creams, much because I don't normally check if they use artificial sweeteners, natural emulsifiers, eggs, creams etc etc. Fair enough, but to me, so as long as it tastes good to me, and I like it, that's all that really matters. My love for ice-creams knows no bounds, I'm not picky about certain things. That said, I can tell you what has changed (for better or for worse) and what I like, and what I don't.
The Daily Scoop is a tricky thing because I used to think it was quite alright in its early days. Now that it has expanded to include another branch at Chip Bee Gardens, somehow you can detect a bit of difference in its ice-creams. Quality compromise? The Strawberry Shortcake and Honey Vanilla weren't as flavourful as before, while the Kookie Monster (as with a few other flavours) seemed more interested in melting as quickly as it possibly can instead of pleasing your tastebuds. One thing remained consistently good though, and that's the Durian flavoured one. Hopefully, they'll look into it soon.
