Happy Graduation!

15 July 2010

First-Class Honours and Recipient of the NUSS Medal of Outstanding Achievement.

Happy moments are meant to be shared. While I cannot say that I was enormously thrilled about it all because I was just so caught up and stressed over my work, nevertheless this is something that I've earned and something that I should be proud of. I do hope it will inspire me to work hard and do well at where I am at now, especially since the pace here has been lightning quick and the learning curve terribly steep. Still, since it's only in the toughest of times that great men rise, I should learn to think positively and adapt fast.

My achievements in school would not have been possible without the strong and loving support of my wonderful family. In many ways I am blessed to have such doting parents, and I'm very grateful for all that they've done for me. It is because of their love and care that has made me the man that I am today.

Thank you!

Congratulations!!! I see that you are fulfilling the dream that I had more than a decade ago, one that I would/could have seen to fruition anyway had I not deviated and chosen to give it up for another life. :-)

Not that I am having many regrets since I speak several languages and get to travel and live in different parts of the world anyway. Minus the paper pushing. 14 months in the Civil Service and I was ready to break bond and do something else. Well, sometimes you have to give it a try and the good thing about experience is that you usually learn from it. And get to know what you really want.

Enjoy chasing your dream! One piece of advice, to better serve the country it'll be good to have outside perspectives as well. This is what many of the new generation of "elites" lack.

And congratulations once again. Love the proud look on your parents' faces.

Congratulations Harris!!!

Was supposed to say this on 12 July at UCC but I did not manage to catch you as you did not go thru the long corridor!!

Anyway, it's finally the start of a long journey in life. Enjoy every single part of it! :P

To Beau Lotus: (dear me, no idea where my thank you reply went?!) Thank you for your comment, will certainly keep in mind the need for outside perspectives - always good to have a holistic and fair view :) Glad that you're enjoying what you do, that's important :)
