Cottage Waffle Place Fondue

11 March 2010

I've talked so much about the waffles from Suntec's Cottage Waffle Place that I've yet to try their chocolate fondue, and it was only until recently when I was there with my friend Jovin that I realised what I've been missing out. Free refillable chocolate fondue is definitely not something you would often get these days, and when you pair that with my favourite waffles it's really like a match made in heaven.

The chocolate fondue reminds me of the more milky chocolate from Anderson's Ice Cream, and tastes better and better the warmer it gets. I said "more milky" because there's also the darker (and more delicious) type of chocolate from Swiss Culture, which probably is the best of its kind that I've tried so far. The waffles meanwhile are just the way I personally like it, buttery thick and crisp at the same time, with the closest counterpart being the waffles from Novena Square 2's Buttercup. Cottage Waffle Place's fondue usually comes with fruits as well, but I managed to persuade the friendly girl behind the counter to change those with another scoop of ice-cream.

Yeah, I'm on a "diet" that's why ;)

Service
Very good and friendly.

Price
$18.90 for the couple fondue.

Place
Suntec City Centre #03-025G
Near Toys 'R' Us and Wang Jiao Cafe.

Looks awesome!!

Question: Are all the ingredients refillable or just the chocolate?

P.S. Have shared this on the Sparklette Facebook Page!

Hey Veron, I just saw the post :)

Only the chocolate is refillable! Otherwise it would be a buffet lol.

As I also mentioned as a comment to your post, it's decent fondue choc but not as impressive as dark choc from Swiss Culture. Still, good enough, for the price, the ice-cream, the marshmallows, the grated peanuts and the waffles!

Wow, this post reminds me that it has been ages since I last drop by Cottage Waffle...

Argghh, and now is a bad time to drop by Suntec...

Expecting huge wave of crowd at the IT show.

For Laurent's chocolate fondue (quite some time ago), it was a huge pot of chocolate but not enough sides to go with. The worst thing is that there is nothing on the menu we can order to go with the chocolate... Yuan was quite sad to leave Laurent without being able to finish the good chocolate...

Glenn: Gosh, so vulgar at 6.57am??

Fen: Hello, how's the BIG DAY coming along! Does Laurent still have fondue? I don't need sides for fondue to be honest, all I need is a spoon! HAHA.

It is still on the menu yesterday but I am not sure if the serving is still as huge as before.

More or less settled... Just keeping my fingers cross for Sunday's weather...
