The Pizza Place II

05 December 2009

The Pizza Place has been around for quite some time now, and I still have a liking for its fresh and well-baked pizzas. It's a toss-up between "typical flavours" from Pizza Place and the more exotic flavours (think Peking Duck) from California Pizza Kitchen. It's not as thin or "skinny" as those from Timbre, but instead has a thicker and "cheesier" crust. This restaurant also operates on an interesting Four No's - No pork, No lard, No GST and No service charge. Pizzas come in personal sizes, calzone (folded pizza!), regular, medium and large. Interestingly enough, the friends that I brought along with me were more in the mood for pastas (!!!) but at least the pastas were fairly decent. Still prefer the pizzas much, much more though!

Meatball Linguini: 3.25/5

As I said, decent, but as you can see, the meatballs are a bit overdone and a tad charred inasmuch as they're nice and beefy to munch on. Very simple fare, I suppose I just felt unimaginative to order this.

Carbonara Linguini

The best friend's choice of pasta. It's beef "bacon" bits by the way, not the real carbonara (pork) bacon of course. The best friend commented that it was very good because it wasn't too heavy, and isn't like the "conventional" carbonara where it is all cream and cheese. She noted that there's herbs and spices in the cream that made it more fragrant and flavourful, and also mentioned that the beef bacon was tastier than the usual pork bacon! Very detailed comments from the best friend, no doubt about it haha!

Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice

It looks fine on the outside and on the inside, and definitely not as creamy or cheesy as the one from Breko's.

Triple Cheese Personal Pizza

Triple cheese pizza consisting of mozzarella, cheddar and feta cheese. Very simple fare. If you need recommendations on pizzas, I think the Mediterranean one is quite good! For the full menu, click here.

Service
Friendly. You write your orders on a piece of paper and make your payment at the front counter. They'll serve your pizza/pasta to your table after a while.

Price
$7.80 for the meatball linguini
$7.50 for the carbonara linguini
$9.80 for the chicken and mushroom baked rice
$7.80 for the personal (deluxe-range) triple-cheese pizza

Place
Raffles City Shopping Centre, #B1-16.
